Jesus wept
"Jesus wept," the shortest verse of the Bible, is a simple statement, yet it has profound significance.
After finding Mary and others grieving the death of Lazarus, Jesus is moved to tears himself. It demonstrates that Jesus is not only God but fully man.
Jesus' tears also remind us of the depth of his love and compassion he has for us. He is not just a distant observer, but he is deeply affected by the pain and suffering of his people. This verse also teaches us to be empathetic and to feel the pain of others around us.
Dear Church, in times of sorrow and pain, let us go to our Lord Jesus Christ with our grief and sorrow and show love and empathy to those around us.
