God is Love
So the Jews said, "See how he loved him!" But some of them said, "Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying?" JOHN 11:36-37
When Jesus wept, people around him reacted in one of two ways. Some saw the love Christ had for those who were mourning. As we saw yesterday, they witnessed Christ's love and compassion for His people. Others remained skeptical and saw His inability to prevent Lazarus' death as a weakness. As we saw in John 11:4, Jesus' delay in responding to Lazarus' illness, which ultimately led to his death, was for the glory of God.
But when Jesus heard it he said, "This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it." JOHN 11:4
Dear Church, know that Christ's love and compassion for His people are unchanging. God is Love. If you are currently facing difficulties, take comfort in knowing that He is with you, feeling your pain and sorrow alongside you. Despite life's uncertainties and challenges, let us always find ways to give glory to God and trust in Him.
Soli Deo gloria
