Complete Forgiveness

When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, JOHN 12:10-11

In today's text, we see that after Jesus miraculously raised Lazarus from the dead, many people wanted to see both Jesus and Lazarus. Despite Jesus' attempts to remain low-key, their story had become viral, and many were amazed at the power of Jesus. However, for those threatened by Jesus' popularity, their plot to eliminate Jesus now included the death of Lazarus, who was living proof of Jesus' divine power.

The situation with Lazarus reminds us of a simple truth: Joanne Greenberg said, "I have found this to be true, that one sin begets a dozen others." When we fail to address our sins, we end up on a path of continual sin, leading to more unrighteousness. This truth applies to everyone, including us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 JOHN 1:9

As we reflect on today's passage, let us ensure that our confessions are current. Let us bring any hidden sins to the light and confess them to the Lord, who is always ready to forgive and set us free from the stronghold of sin. May we walk in the freedom that comes from confessing our sins and experiencing the fullness of God's forgiveness.

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, HEBREWS 1:3
