Look Up

A Song of Ascents.
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth. PSALM 121:1–2

When we face challenges in life, it can be tempting to rely on our own strength and resources. But as Christians, we are called to look beyond ourselves and turn to God for help and guidance. In Psalm 121:1-2, the psalmist expresses his helplessness and vulnerability by looking up, searching for a source of strength and protection. Yet he quickly realizes that his help does not come from the mountains but from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

This passage reminds us that God is our ultimate source of help and strength. No matter what we are facing, we can turn to Him for the support and guidance we need. As the psalmist declares,

"My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." PSALM 121:2

This statement affirms God's power and sovereignty over all things, reminding us that God is greater than our circumstances or challenges.

Dear Church, we are called to trust in God's power and love, even when things seem uncertain or difficult. We can confidently believe he is always with us, ready and willing to provide the strength and guidance we need. When we lift up our eyes to God, we gain a new perspective on our circumstances. We may not be able to see from His point of view, but we are reminded of His power, love, mercy, and grace.

Let us turn to God in our times of need.
