God is so good

Oh give thanks to the Lord, 
for he is good; 
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Let Israel say, 
“His steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 118:1-2

As we go through life's ups and downs, it is hard to focus on the goodness of God. We tend to focus on our problems and worries rather than taking the time to appreciate the many blessings in our lives. But when we turn our hearts towards God and remember His blessings, we can find peace and hope in even the darkest of times.

In today's text, the Psalmist calls us to give thanks to the LORD, not just because of the good things He has done for us, but because of His character and attributes. God is good, and His love endures forever. His love is unchanging and does not depend on our behavior or actions.

When we give thanks to God, we acknowledge His goodness and faithfulness in our lives. We recognize that every good thing comes from Him and that He is the source of all our blessings.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17

Dear Church, let us take a moment to give thanks to the LORD. Let us remember His goodness, love, and all the ways He has blessed us. And let us trust in His unfailing love, knowing that no matter what we face, He is always with us and for us.
