God's Answer
"I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again." John 12:28b
In today's text, we hear the voice of God the Father speaking from heaven, responding to Jesus' prayer to glorify His name. The Father declares, "I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again." These words are not only a powerful affirmation of Jesus' mission, but they also reveal God's unchanging character and His commitment to glorify His name.
Throughout the Bible, God glorifies Himself through His mighty works, faithfulness, and grace. He created the world and everything in it to display His glory, and He redeemed humanity through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross to demonstrate His love and mercy. In all these actions, God has revealed His greatness and holiness.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1
Also, we can take comfort in knowing that God will continue to glorify His name in the future. He will bring about the ultimate restoration of all things, and His glory will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea, which gives us hope and confidence as we face the trials and challenges of this life, knowing that God's glory will ultimately prevail.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14
Dear Church, let us join together in glorifying His name. Let us live in a way that honors Him, share the good news of Jesus Christ with others, and look forward to the day we will see His glory in fullness. As we do this, let us remember that God has already glorified His name and will continue to do so for all eternity.
