Knowing the Father
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. John 14:7
As we reflect on Thomas's meditation on John 14:6, let us continue to look at John 14:7. Jesus declared, "If you had known me, you would have known my Father also." In knowing Jesus, we come to know the Father. He is not a distant God but a loving Father who desires to reveal Himself to His children. Jesus fully represents the heart and character of the Father.
Just as Jesus demonstrated compassion, forgiveness, and mercy, we can trust that these qualities describe our Heavenly Father. His love surpasses human understanding, His grace reaches the depths of our brokenness, and His wisdom guides us through every season of life. To know God as our Father is to experience His overwhelming love and unchanging faithfulness.
Dear Church, spend time reflecting on the Father's love for you. May His love stir up within your soul to seek Him, walk in His ways, and extend love to others with compassion, grace, and forgiveness.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1
