Knowing Him

If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. John 14:7

As we reflect on Thomas à Kempis' meditation on John 14:6, let us continue to look at John 14:7. Jesus assures us, "From now on, you do know him and have seen him." The promise of knowing God has been fulfilled through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. The disciples had the incredible privilege of physically walking with Jesus, witnessing His miracles, and hearing His teachings. Today, we are blessed with the revelation of God through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, resides within every believer, leading us into all truth and deepening our relationship with God. By developing an intimate connection with the Holy Spirit through prayer, meditation, and studying God's Word, we gain profound insight into the mysteries of God's nature, His plans, and His purposes for our lives.

John 14:7 reminds us that our journey to know God begins and ends with Jesus. In seeking to know Him, we discover the depths of our Heavenly Father's love and the abundant life He has prepared for us.

Dear Church, let us embrace this call to walk with Jesus, learn from His example, and rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us closer to God. As you press on, may you experience the fulfillment of Jesus' promise and find joy in knowing God.
