Let's Roll

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

As we have looked at this week, the primary mission of the church, the North Star, comes from the Great Commission. In essence, it is to know Christ and make Him known. We should make sure that we have the Great Commission in mind in everything we do as His followers, whether it is offering bible studies, community outreach, missions, musical programs, etc. This call is not limited to a select few -- it is an invitation extended to every believer. We are called to spread the Gospel and make disciples wherever we are, in our neighborhoods, communities, and workplaces.

The heart of the Great Commission lies in the call to make disciples. Discipleship involves more than mere conversion; it is a journey of transformation and growth. We are to share the message of salvation and lead others to become committed followers of Jesus Christ. It is a lifelong commitment to nurture and guide others in their spiritual walk, teaching them to observe and obey all that Christ has commanded. In other words, we must experience life change as we live life together.

Dear Church, let us respond to the Great Commission with a resounding "yes." Let us embrace our role as disciples and disciple-makers, knowing that through our obedience, we will experience transformation from the inside out, and God's kingdom will advance. As we go forth, let us rely on the authority and presence of Jesus, trusting in His faithfulness to equip and guide us every step of the way.

Soli Deo Gloria!
