Teaching and Remembering

"These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:25-26

In Upper Room Discourse (John 13-17), Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, assuring them of the Helper, the Holy Spirit, who will fulfill two vital roles in their lives and ours.

The Teaching Role: Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will be their Teacher. He will impart wisdom and understanding of God's truth, enabling them to grasp spiritual insights beyond human comprehension. Likewise, the Holy Spirit is our teacher, guiding us into all biblical truth and illuminating the Word of God in our hearts.

The Remembrance Role: The disciples, like us, are prone to forget and lose sight of essential truths. The Holy Spirit steps in to help them remember all that Jesus had spoken. As we open our hearts to Him, the Spirit reminds us of Christ's words, keeping His teachings relevant daily.

Dear Church, amid life's challenges, let us rely on the Holy Spirit's guidance as our Teacher and Remembrance. He leads us to a deeper understanding of God's Word and ensures we walk in the light of Christ's teachings. As you yield to His presence, may you find comfort, wisdom, and strength to live according to God's will.
