International Day of Prayer

Today is the International Day of Prayer for The Persecuted Church (IDOP). It is a day where Christians all around the world pray for their brothers and sisters in Christ who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. According to idop.org, Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world. What should be our response? We need to pray! The number one request from the persecuted Christians is not material resources, but prayer. The imprisoned persecuted Christians often state that they can feel when people are praying. After prayer and fasting for 21 days, God told Daniel through an angel, “For from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words” (Daniel 10:12). God hears our prayers. God responds to our prayers. There is power in prayer! The following list is a ranking of the top 5 countries where persecution of Christians is most severe (worldwatchlist.us): North Korea, Somalia, Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan. Let us “remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated” (Hebrews 13:3).
