Joy in the Wilderness

So he brought his people out with joy,
his chosen ones with singing.
—Psalm 105:43

For the third week of Advent, let us focus on the word JOY. For those of you who could not make yesterday's bible study, here is a short video from the Bible Project that gives us a good definition of JOY.

In today's Psalm, we see how the people of Israel were able to look back at Exodus's time and rejoiced even though they were in the middle of the desert without knowing when they would get to the Promised Land. As the video states,

"This joy in the wilderness, this was a defining moment, a way of saying that the joy of God's people is not determined by their struggles but by their future destiny."

The Well Church, as we struggle through our wilderness journey this year with COVID-19 and other challenges, let us rejoice anyway by keeping our eyes on Jesus who came down on Christmas.

May the joy of the Lord be your strength.

Merry Christmas!
