Long Run

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, —Hebrews 12:1

Faith requires endurance. The author of Hebrews and the Apostle Paul relate our faith to running a race (1 Corinthians 9; 2 Timothy 4). When running a race, runners want every advantage possible — the right shoes, clothes, gear, etc. help boost performance. The same is true for our spiritual race. Hebrews 12:1 reminds us that sin hinders our running. It weighs us down.

The Well Church, let us finish the race that is set before us with endurance. As we looked at yesterday, confession and repentance are how we can shed the weight that slows us down. Let us encourage each other today. Who can you encourage? I challenge you to reach out to them.
