Our Allegiance
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings. —James 1:1
Happy Monday!
In the opening of his letter, James identifies himself as a servant of God and Lord. He followed God's agenda. He is fiercely loyal to God — a loyalty that seeks to understand and know God, and to understand His will.
The Well Church, Jesus warns, “No one can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24). Our loyalty and allegiance to God cannot be divided. We either serve God or we do not serve Him at all. Where does your ultimate allegiance lie? Let us make sure that our hearts and minds are committed to God and God alone. It starts with knowing Jesus.
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. —Matthew 6:24
