Lure and enticed

But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. —James 1:14

Today's text reminds us that we must guard our hearts. Amid challenging times, we feel the tug in our hearts to ignore God's commands and disobey Him. Our desires lure us away from God. Let's face it; there are times when we want to sin!

The Well Church, in moments like these, let us look to Jesus, our high priest. He identifies with our struggles. Through Him, we can resist our sinful desires that seek to devour.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. —Hebrews 4:15
