Father of lights

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. —James 1:17

James refers to God as “the Father of lights.” Light represents among the things, goodness, glory, and love. The Apostle John says,

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. —1 John 1:5

As our Father in heaven, he gives so much more than what we can imagine. Jesus said,

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! —Matthew 7:11

The Well Church, let us look to the Father of lights, our Heavenly Father, and worship Him today.

He is love.

He is light.

He is unchanging.

He is good.
