Glorious Love

For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. —James 3:16

James reminds us that “earthly” wisdom leads to disorder and evil of every kind. Jealousy and selfish ambition lead to posting, quarreling, and breaking many of the Ten Commandments. Jesus said,

“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” — Matthew 5:44

Brothers and sisters, it is impossible to love your enemies without wisdom from above. Let us look to Jesus and rely on Him for knowledge. As the Apostle Peter teaches,

“So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.” —1 Peter 2:1
