Running on Empty
When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." - John 2:3
The unthinkable happened in the middle of a wedding feast in Cana - they ran out of wine. The festivities would have to end early, which will bring a lot of shame and embarrassment to the bridegroom's family. I imagine the host was panicking about the situation at hand. In a humble and yet simple way, Mary goes straight to Jesus with the problem. She tells him, "They have no wine."
Brothers and sisters in Christ, who do you go to when the unthinkable happens to you? Mary teaches us a valuable lesson - go to Jesus. Jesus Christ cares for you. As the Apostle Peter writes,
"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." - 1 Peter 5:7
What worries can you give to God today? I encourage you to place your trust in Him with them.
