Born Again

Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." - John 3:3

Jesus makes an introductory statement to Nicodemus about spiritual rebirth. It appears to come out of nowhere. When a message, especially from Jesus, begins with "truly, truly," it signifies its importance. We must pay attention to this statement. Here Jesus introduces the term born again. What does it mean to be born again? We hear that term a lot, but do you truly understand what it means to be born again?

The phrase born again literally means "born from above." To be born again is to have experienced a spiritual rebirth. The Apostle Paul writes in Second Corinthians,

"When anyone is in Christ, it is a whole new world. The old things are gone; suddenly, everything is new!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17

Dear Church, let us remember today, Christians are born again and children of God. Christ paid the price by dying on the cross so that we could see the Kingdom of God and enter it. When you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are born again and a new creation. How is God transforming you today?
