Do you know Christ?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

Many churches and Christian organizations adopt a mission statement summarized as knowing Christ and making him known. What does it mean to know Christ? To know Christ is to become united with him by believing and personally trusting in him. Today's text also states that to have eternal life is to know God.

Dear Church, as we meditate on John 3:16, let us make sure that we are in a right relationship with Christ. Do you know him? Is your will aligned with his? The Apostle Paul demonstrates his relationship with Christ in his letter to the Galatians. He states, 

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20

As we wrap up 2021, let us reaffirm our faith and belief in Jesus Christ.
