Margin

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

Yesterday I pointed out that many churches and Christian organizations adopt a mission statement summarized as knowing Christ and making him known. We saw that to know Christ is to have eternal life. Today, let us look at what it means to make him known. Knowing Christ is personal growth in a relationship with Christ, and making him known indicates faith in action. What can you and I do to make Christ known? One way we can make Christ known is to serve others in the Name of Jesus. After washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus commanded,

"If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet." - John 13:14

Dear Church, I believe that our most significant obstacle in making Christ known in our community is not our lack of relationship with Christ but is the lack of time. We have no margin to serve God and our community with our busy schedules. Serving our community must become a priority for us. As you look to 2022, what changes can you make in your schedule to love and serve your community?

Let us aim to know Christ and make him known in the new year.
