Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, — Ephesians 6:5

In Ephesians 6:5, Paul urges bondservants to obey their "earthly" masters with fear and trembling, meaning to serve with deep respect. In today's context, master-slave relationships are about work. Paul calls believers to obey their leaders as they would Christ, even if the work is unfair.

How can we do this?

Brothers and sisters, we can only serve with integrity when we trust in Jesus Christ. We must trust that He not only sees and knows us but also He is with us.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Let us reflect the face of Christ to others at work as His children.
