Without faith...
Here is another thing you do. You cover the Lord's altar with tears, weeping and groaning because he pays no attention to your offerings and doesn't accept them with pleasure. You cry out, "Why doesn't the Lord accept my worship?" - Malachi 2:13-14a
Do you wonder why God doesn't hear your prayers and feel distant even when you fast, cry out to him, and worship with zeal? Judah was undergoing a similar struggle. God had rejected Judah's worship and offering despite them flooding God's altar with tears. The problem with their "heartfelt" worship is that they were faithless.
When God feels distant, even when you feel like you are doing everything right, i.e., worship, prayer, and service, examine your faith. Do you trust God with everything and obey his commandments, or does the wisdom of the world influence you?
Let us remember,
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. - Hebrews 11:6
The Well Church, let us be people of faith by trusting him wholeheartedly.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6
