Covenant People

Because the LORD was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant. - Malachi 2:14b

From God's perspective, marriage is a covenant where God served as a witness. Therefore, violating the covenant by being faithless in marriage slanders God. What does it mean to be unfaithful in marriage? It happens when a married couple does not keep their marriage vow, ending with "as long as we both shall live."

People of God, remember that we are covenant people. God's covenant to his people is the foundation of our relationship with him. As such, let us keep our covenant with God and one another by relying on the power of God.

As God is faithful, let us be faithful!
