God Laughs
He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, "As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill." - Psalm 2:4-6
Today's text gives God's perspective on man's futile effort to normalize sin. He laughs and scoffs at their effort. His laughing leads to anger. In his fury, he says,
"I have placed my chosen King on the throne of Jerusalem, on my holy mountain." - Psalm 2:6b (NLT).
God declares his sovereignty and purpose to establish the throne of David, his chosen King, to defeat His adversaries. Concerning this King, Luke writes,
"He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." - Luke 1:32-33
The Well Church, let us place our trust in Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. His kingdom will never end!
