God's Glory
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. - John 20:30-31
Jesus performed many miraculous signs while he was here on earth. In fact, John writes that there were too many to record (John 21:25).
"Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written." - John 21:25
So, what is the purpose of the miraculous signs? It simply reveals the glory of God. After recording Jesus' first sign, John records,
This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him. - John 2:11
Although many witnessed the miracle, only the disciples saw the glory of God manifested. The disciples, by faith, recognized Jesus' glory. Without faith, one cannot see the glory of God.
Ladies and gentlemen of The Well Church, by faith, may you see His glory!
