King of kings
"Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." - John 20:30-31
The Apostle John wrote his book so that his readers may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed one, the Son of God. The Christ is a title that acknowledged that He was the expected Messiah of Israel. Jesus Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
"On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords." - Revelation 19:16
There is no higher authority than Jesus Christ, who reigns over all. There are no other gods before Him.
The Well Church, let us set aside our pride and submit to the King of kings and the Lord of lords, who has given His life so that you and I may have eternal life. As D. A. Carson noted,
"Our King reigns from the cross.”
He is the ultimate hope for all believers. Let us place our trust in our King.
