The Word became Flesh
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth - John 1:14
So far in the prologue, John established that Jesus Christ, The Word, is God. However, in today's text, he answeres the question, "Was Jesus a real person?" The answer to this question holds the key to our salvation. In the most straightforward statement, John writes,
"And the Word became flesh..." - John 1:14a
One theologian notes, "Apart from the 'Word becoming flesh' (John 1:14) and the incarnate Son of God living and dying in our place as our Savior, there is no salvation."
Brothers and sisters in Christ, as you meditate on today's verse, I trust and pray that you believe by faith that Jesus Christ became flesh, lived the life we could not live and died the death that we deserve in our place as your Savior.
If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9
