Peace
[D]o not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7
Tropical storm Ida has impacted our area, and many of us are affected by the devastation. Susan and I heard from several of you about water damage in your homes caused by the storm. Though this may be a difficult time for you, we will always be here to support you. We are praying for you.
Our emotional responses can be anger, frustration, fear, hopelessness, and abandonment in situations like these. Or we can bitterly ask God, "Why me?" The Apostle Paul may have felt the same way while he was in prison in Philippi. However, he encouraged his readers to
"not be anxious about anything..." - Philippians 4:6a
When we cast all our burdens to Him by prayer and supplication, we will experience unexplainable peace, especially in challenging situations. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
The Well Church, let us pray for all impacted by the storm. Let us reach out to our brothers and sisters and see how we can help. And lastly, let us pray that the peace of God will be upon them.
