Snow Day

Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson
they shall become like wool.

If you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
- Isaiah 1:18–20

Q: What is whiter than snow?
A: Our sins after Jesus washes them away.

Happy Snow Day!

This morning, the beautiful white snow reminds me of Isaiah 1:18-20, where God mentions that our sins, though they stain permanently like scarlet, can be as white as snow through him. To experience this cleansing power, we must not rebel against God but be willing to follow him and repent. Only God can remove our indelible stains.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
- Psalm 51:7

Scripture promises that when Jesus is our savior, we are completely forgiven of our sins.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
- 1 John 1:9–10

Dear Church, on this snowy day, let us make sure that our confessions are current, knowing that Jesus is faithful and just to forgive. Only the blood of Jesus can wash away our sins...
