How do people see you?
They brought to the Pharisees the man who had formerly been blind. - John 9:13
How do people see you?
For the man Jesus healed, his blindness was his identity for his entire life. So, even when Jesus healed him, he was identified as "the man who had formerly been blind." His "new" identity is a constant reminder of Jesus' healing power and glorifies God. Rahab, named in the genealogy of Christ in Matthew, is known as "Rahab the prostitute." Her identity also brings glory to God.
When God transforms us, we are new creations. As the Apostle Paul said,
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Dear Church, as believers in Christ, we are a new creation. Let us glorify Him with our new identity in Him. Like the man formally blind and Rahab the prostitute, let us glorify God with our transformed lives.
