Worldview Blindness
The Jews did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight and asked them, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?" - John 9:18
Our worldview often blinds us. Because of our worldview blindness, we often miss seeing the truth and distort our understanding of God and the Bible. The Jews, a.k.a religious leaders, completely missed seeing Jesus as Christ because of their worldview blinders. The Messiah could not violate their manmade law, and therefore, Jesus could not have healed the blind man. They were determined to prove that Jesus did not restore the man's sight.
Christians today often act the same way as the Jews, and we often miss seeing Jesus in our daily lives because of our worldview blindness. Some of us only expect to see Jesus on Sundays at church, but not at work, the doctor's office, or home.
How is your worldview limiting you today? Let us not compartmentalize our faith. Let us look to Jesus as we grow in Him today and every day.
