Jesus, our teacher

This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. So Jesus again said to them, - John 10:6-7a

Many acknowledge that Jesus was a great teacher, and I often wonder what it would be like to learn from Jesus. In today's text and many other occasions, the gospel writers note that many did not understand what Jesus was saying. Jesus, however, does not dismiss them but shows patience by teaching in another way. He demonstrates his love through patience.

Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. - 1 Corinthians 2:12

Brothers and sisters, how do you deal with difficult biblical teachings that you either do not agree with or do not understand? Please know that Jesus, our ultimate teacher, is incredibly patient. Do not dismiss the teachings, but keep listening to our good shepherd and ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes so that we may see the truth.
