But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. - 1 Peter 3:14-16
What is the gospel, and can you explain it? Scripture teaches us to live out the gospel message and be ready to defend our hope in Jesus Christ. In today's sermon, I used the following King's Witness symbols that can help us explain the gospel.
King’s Witness
HE CAME God wanted a relationship with us, so He sent His Son to lead us to Him.
HE DIED Our holy God cannot ignore our sins, so He sacrificed His Son's life on the cross so that we can have forgiveness.
HE AROSE Jesus was raised from the dead, proving that God accepted His sacrifice for our sins.
HE ASCENDED Jesus was raised from the dead, proving that God accepted His sacrifice for our sins.
HE'S COMING BACK Jesus will return to earth to defeat Satan, end evil, gather His followers and establish the kingdom of God.
Dear Church, God calls us to believe and share the gospel with our family, friends, and neighbors. Who are in need of Christ around you? Share the good news with them!
