Let's read the Bible.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17
Let's read the bible. No, seriously, let's read the bible. As 2022 ends, many of you will be thinking about starting something new in the new year. Many believers resolve to read the bible in one year. Although this may sound like a lofty goal, it is attainable. Please note that I am not challenging us to read the bible in one year but to read the bible regularly. But, reading for the sake of reading is not beneficial, and we must have the attitude of hearing from our Father in Heaven.
Charles Spurgeon said, "So, if you want to know the Lord Jesus Christ, you must live with him. First he must himself speak to you, and afterwards you must abide in him. He must be the choice Companion of your morning hours, he must be with you throughout the day, and with him you must also close the night; and as often as you may wake during the night, you must say, 'When I awake, I am still with thee.'"
Dear Church, if you are not used to reading the bible regularly, the most challenging part may be building the habit of reading a few chapters daily. Let us not view it as a task but as time spent with our Maker. Let us encourage and challenge each other to spend time with God.
