Be Watchful

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love. - 1 CORINTHIANS 16:13-14

What does it mean to be watchful, to be on your guard? It means we must be attentive, vigilant, and spiritually awake to see what is happening around us. We need to be aware of three things. First, What is God doing right now? Where is He at work, and how should we be joining Him in His work? Second, what is going on in our hearts? Are there toxic and negative thoughts that are influencing and impacting us? What lies do you believe right now? We must take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5b). Lastly, we need to be aware of the scheme of the evil one, as he is looking to destroy and devour.

Dear Church, as we begin 2023, let us not hit the snooze button, but be alert as we obey Christ and follow Him. How can you join Him in His work?
