The Harvest

Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. - John 4:35

As a pastor, I hear from many that they are not ready to serve because they are not spiritually mature enough. "I need to grow more in Jesus," is often their response. Although this may sound like a humble statement, it is an excuse in reality. No one is qualified to serve God. The amazing truth about the gospel is that God uses people who are not "ready" to serve him. In today's text, Jesus explains that there is work to do now, and there is no time to wait for the harvest is ready.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us ask God to open our eyes that we may see the harvest and equip us to serve him. No one is ready, but through Christ, everyone is ready to share the good news. Let us boldly take the first step in working the harvest. Who can you reach out to today?
