Snow Day
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. - Psalm 51:7
I don't know about you, but snowy days are always inconvenient days for me. On workdays, I have to worry about the commute. Will the roads be OK? Will I be able to drive up on my steep driveway? I worry about losing power and heat on snow days, and it's just not a great day for me.
There is, however, one reminder that I am grateful for on snow days. The beautiful fresh snow reminds me of God's forgiveness. King David knew the power of God's love and forgiveness when he declared, "I shall be whiter than snow."
Isaiah writes,
"Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool." - Isaiah 1:18
Dear Church, whether you are out on the road or at home on this wintery day, make sure that your confessions are current and know that you shall be whiter than snow through the power of the cross of Jesus Christ.
