Where to, Lord?

"After the two days he departed for Galilee. For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.) So when he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, having seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the feast. For they too had gone to the feast." - John 4:43-45

After spending two extra days successfully ministering to the people in Samaria, Jesus travels to his hometown Galilee. He testifies, "a prophet has no honor in his hometown," revealing the purpose of his visit. Although there is no honor given, he is going to where people need to hear the message. God often sends us to places where we do not want to go.

Dear Church, where is God sending you today? As Jesus focused on his mission, today's text encourages us to keep our eyes on Jesus as we follow him. As you obey him, place your trust in him. God is with you!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9
