God's Approval
[41] I do not receive glory from people. - John 5:41
Whose recognition do you seek? The Jewish leaders' motivation was to have power and authority over people and receive approval and honor from others. Jesus, on the other hand, was concerned about God's approval.
"It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one's own glory." - Proverbs 25:27
What motivates you? Are you more concerned with your performance? As believers who imitate Christ, we should be concerned about God's approval in our thoughts, words, and deeds. Let us rely on Christ and the Holy Spirit in all we do for God's glory. May you hear the words from your master,
"Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master." - Matthew 25:23b
Even if others do not see and recognize you, be satisfied knowing that God not only notices you but approves of you in Christ.
"...he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him." - Ephesians 1:4
