Mission Impossible

[4] Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. [5] Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?" [6] He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.
- John 6:4-6

Is Jesus asking for you to do the impossible? In today's passage, Jesus asks Philip to solve an impossible problem: buy enough bread for 20,000 people, which is an impossible feat to accomplish even today. How was Philip to respond? In verse 6, John adds that Jesus was testing Philip, testing his faith.

Dear church, is Jesus asking for you to do the impossible? What teachings of Jesus are hard or impossible to follow? Today's text reminds us that we should not limit what God can do, and Jesus is enough! Let us do the impossible today with Christ.
