Are you a follower?

And he said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."
- Luke 9:23

Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? To be a true disciple of Jesus Christ requires self-denial, meaning the denial of personal control of one's life. Being a disciple of Jesus does not guarantee an easy life and, at times, can be very painful.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, remember that God is in control of all things, and he is also Emmanuel, which means God with us. As we follow Christ, let us not forget Moses' words to Joshua:

"It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
- Deuteronomy 31:8
