Jesus is Lord of All
Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.
- John 6:21
The disciples witnessed another miracle on the boat. After facing the storm all night and going nowhere at sea, the boat immediately arrived at their destination as soon as they received Jesus onto the boat. The miracle most certainly reminded the disciples of Psalm 107, where the psalmist sings,
"Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!"
- Psalm 107:28-31
The proper response is to "thank the LORD for his steadfast love."
People of the Well Church, do you feel like you are wandering headed nowhere? Today's text reminds us that Jesus is Lord of all, in control of things, and to cry out to the LORD and make sure that he is on the boat with us.
Let us give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love.
