What's the catch?

Then they said to him, "What must we do, to be doing the works of God?" Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent." - John 6:28-29

Nothing is free in this world. When we receive something for "free," we think there must be a catch. What must we do for God to receive his gifts? Many religions are man's ill-fated attempt to answer this question, and Jesus' answer is simple: "Believe in him whom he has sent."

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - Ephesians 2:8

Pleasing God comes from whom we believe -- Jesus Christ. We must accept that Jesus is who he claims to be. As John writes in his first epistle,

"And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us." - 1 John 3:23

Dear Church, let us remember that Jesus saved us through faith, a gift from God. As you remain in Jesus today, may you experience his peace, power, and favor.
