The True Bread of Life

Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." They said to him, "Sir, give us this bread always." Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. - John 6:32-35

What does Jesus mean when he mentions the true bread from heaven? He speaks of something that feeds people not merely physically but eternally and spiritually. The manna given to Israel in Exodus and Numbers was temporal and only met their physical needs.

Jesus claims, "I am the bread of life." Only Jesus nourishes us spiritually and permanently satisfies our spiritual longings. We must eat this bread, and therefore, we must have a relationship with Christ through reading the Word, prayer, and obedience.

The Well Church, Christ sustains us as the true bread from heaven when we walk with Him daily. Let us continue to walk with Him through Word, prayer, and obedience. What is Christ asking of you today?

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, - Colossians 2:6
