Who can walk alongside you?
“Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
- Isaiah 55:6
Let me pray about it is a typical response I often get when I ask for help, especially within the church context. For many, it is code for I'll think about it, or a "Christian" way to say No. We similarly respond to God by delaying our obedience to Him. A pastor once said that delayed obedience is disobedience. It is a failure to obey God's commandments. James said,
"So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin."
- James 4:17
So what has God told you to do that you haven't started yet? What is holding you back?
The Well Church, let us obey without delay; as the psalmist proclaims,
I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments.
- Psalm 119:60
As a person of faith, even if you do not understand why God is commanding, obey first and seek to understand later.
Let us not only ask God for help but also lean on each other at church to step out in faith and obey Him. Who can walk alongside you? Reach out to that person without delay
