Praying for the Lost

So the Jews said, "Will he kill himself, since he says, 'Where I am going, you cannot come'?" [23] He said to them, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.- John 8:22-23

The religious leaders, who first understood that Jesus was going to leave Jerusalem to preach to the scattered Jews, now suspect that Jesus was referring to His death from suicide. If Jesus were to do so, this would solve their problem with Jesus. Although they were incorrect in how Jesus died, they are ironically right that Jesus voluntarily goes away by submitting to the Father's will and dying on the cross.

All of us will face death one day. The only way to not die in our sins and be with God the Father for eternity is by believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who made way for us by the cross.

Dear Church, let us pray that the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of those who do not know Jesus yet and believe in Him! Who can you pray for today?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." - John 3:16-17
