Praising God in the Storm

But when Jesus heard it he said, "This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it." - JOHN 11:4

Why does God allow "bad things" to happen to His people? It is a question we often ask, especially when we or someone we love face hardship. We often equate health, wealth, and comfort to God's blessings and the opposite to God's wrath. According to our Lord Jesus Christ, this premise is false. Lazarus' illness was for the glory of God.

Dear Church, when you are going through hardship, I want to encourage you to look to Jesus Christ, trust in Him, and know that God loves you. Even though we do not understand, ask God how we can glorify Him through our hardship.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. - ROMANS 8:18
