Dependence on God's Word
I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me!
PSALM 119:19
Dear Church, we will study the third stanza (ג) of Psalm 119, in which the psalmist expresses his devotion to God's law and desire to follow it more closely. He acknowledges his dependence on God's mercy, asks for understanding of God's law, expresses his longing to live as a sojourner in this world, and praises God's law as his delight and counselor. The stanza highlights the importance of seeking God's help to follow His law and in finding joy in His word.
Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.
PSALM 119:24
The third stanza of Psalm 119 reminds us to seek a deeper understanding of God's law and apply it to our lives. We should remember that God's law is not a burden but a source of joy and guidance. As we seek to understand His law, we can ask for His help to resist the temptations of this world and live as citizens of heaven. Let us grow in our relationship with God and desire to follow His will by applying these principles in our lives.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
PSALM 119:105 (KJV)
