God's Word
But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all. Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish." JOHN 11:49-50
Today's Bible passage shows the consequences of hardheartedness and disbelief. Yesterday, we saw how the Chief Priests and Pharisees plotted against Jesus, leading to His ultimate crucifixion and resurrection. Today's verses show the irony in Caiaphas' words, which are filled with sacrificial language, but ultimately speak to Jesus' sacrifice for our sins. Though Caiaphas' motivations were not in line with God's will, we see how God still uses even the wrong intentions for His purposes. Just like in Numbers 22, when God even spoke through a donkey.
Dear church family, let us remember that God is always speaking to us. What is He saying to you today? Take time to listen and reflect on His words.
